I too have shaved my beard off due to a trimming mistake rather than heat. It's really funny as the bits of my face that were under the beard feel really cold in this NZ winter while the bits that weren't feel warm. Aah the joy this gives me.

I will say you do look much younger without it. All men look younger without their beards. Just look at Rev. Piazza. You could have cut the beard short like I do which give you a younger look but still allows you to have some facial hair. I love having my short beard. I've been told this is the best I've ever looked. Maybe you could try that if you're still wanting some facial hair but not too much so you can survive the summer heat here in Texas.
