Now I'm so thankful that when we went through the Work USA programme, they had arrangements with these Social Security people. They send one person to our hostel just to get these bunch of young kiwis and aussies a social security number on the very next day that we arrived. Also explains why our J visa started over 20 days before we departed! So nice not to have to be a grown up and deal with all these crap ourselves, eh. I still have that piece of paper... :P I hope they've upgraded it since... Well done! :) Oh dear…
